CEU Course: Indications for Transfusion

Blood transfusions can never be entirely risk-free. In this course we will consider the primary indicatuions for transfusion of red cells, platelets and plasma components.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Understand major indications for transfusion of red blood cells (RBC).
  2. Be familiar with major indications for platelet transfusions.
  3. Discuss indications for transfusion of plasma components including cryoprecipitate.

To receive CEU credit for this activity, participants must:

  2. Take the online Post-Test.
